My 'new' thrifted crockery. I'll be very sad to leave these behind me when I go back to New Zealand. Each of the different types of crockery shows a different pattern. We've named the man John :D
I'll be using it in Ireland until December and then seeing if I can ship it back (or if its too expensive) or BM might veto it on his visit to me next month :)
I've decided to update my look at least in blog terms. Crafty mermaid just doesn't feel 'me' any more. I've set up a new blog and look forward to seeing you there! https://sewmancer.blogspot.com/
Gemma from Sixty Six Stitches started off a rather revealing tour of the Wellington Sewing Bloggers Network sewing rooms. I was far too intrigued not to join in. Of course, I wanted to snoop around the creative spaces of some very creative people and felt that I had to participate rather snoop unrequited! ;) Previous in the series is: Zara from Off Grid Chic (Loving the idea of the screen and rather jealous of the mannequins) So here we are - a view into my study, sewing and craft room (and erstwhile cloak room during parties). To the right is my spare table. Grea
Ok, fine. I'm sure that title has been done to death since the Papercut Watson was released, but come on - its a caped jacket and all kinds of awesome. I wouldn't have had the nerve to make it without Sandra of Flossie FT having let me try on her's! This adopting people's sewing creations as a means of deciding what to make is becoming a habit. Its so lovely to be able to try on the finished product to figure about sizing and fit. I started making the jacket on the Fabric Hoarders Winter Retreat . It was so wonderful to be surrounded by talented ladies when embarking on a new (and slightly terrifying) project. On the advice of the lovely fabric hoarders, I waited and interfaced the check fabric. It did mean some hairy moments with a lot of fabric to manipulate at times! This jacket is the make I'm most proud of since I started sewing. I really love it. The only downside is there isn't pockets. I'm really not sure why they
Ohh the set is so pretty! Surely you could pack it up and ship it home!?
