Images from Gaudi's Casa Batllo . This spectacular house was the main reason I wanted to revisit Barcelona. I came here with a friend of mine a few years ago and absolutely loved it. I couldn't wait to visit again and soak in the amazing architectural and decorative details. So fluid and ergonomic. A lot of the design features in addition to being colourful and whimsical are clever design features that improve usability of the house. The tiles in the centre lightwell change in saturation as they flow through the building - giving the impression of more light in the darker areas of the house.

Some photos from my visit to the Dali Museum all the way back in June. It was strange to see what caught my eye on the day. I'm not a fan of Dali in general and wasn't particularly moved or excited by most of the stuff in the museum. The building was fun and I liked some of the ideas - viewing the face through a frame and the skull on the bottle. But it wasn't setting my world on fire - that is until I got to the jewellery section! Stunning, amazing, intricate, surprizing, I could go on. Unfortunately that part of the museum was fairly dark so not pix to expound upon. The picture above of the heart shows one of the coolest pieces - the centre moved by contracting and expanding simulating a heart beat. It was breath taking.
Umbrellas, jeeps and aliens

I really love this card - made from scraps of paper, some puffy yarn and a picture from a magazine. More alien buddies. A coloured seashell from stash. And a bit of an improvisation. This is cute but didn't work out as well as the idea in my head. I'll have to try it again with a nicer umbrella. This one looked a bit too homemade. Have to practise those drawing skills!
